Managing projects for the Ministry of Defence, this company is anything but boring Working on-site to assistin the end-to-end project work, the successful Assistant Project Accountant would benefit from receiving study support, hybrid working, flexible hours and a generous holiday package.

This role would suit someone who is looking for their next step up in finance, is available to start on short notice, and studying towards AAT / CIMA / ACA / ACCA.


Reporting to the Project Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Manage the month end change reconciliation process
  • Assist in the development of budget and forecast process for all projects
  • Setting and loading baseline cost models into Sage and PowerBi
  • Assist with month end close
  • Update and disseminate weekly actuals reports
  • Update PowerBi weekly
  • Working with internal project stakeholders
  • Ad hoc project reporting & project related queries
  • Post journals as intructed

What you will need:

  • Previous experience within a similar role: Purchase Ledger / Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant / Project Manager / Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
  • Studying towards an accounting qualification is needed (AAT / CIMA / ACA / ACCA)
  • Proficient Excel user
  • Previous experience of working with UK Ministry of Defence is useful but not essential
