Job Title:
Behaviour Support Assistant

Location:
Nottingham

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with challenging behaviour, including implementing behaviour management strategies, deescalation techniques, and crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the pastoral team to develop and implement personalised behaviour support plans for students with additional needs.
  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills through mentoring, coaching, and providing guidance on appropriate behaviours.
  • Assist in the supervision and monitoring of students during break times, lunchtimes, and other designated times, ensuring compliance with school rules and policies.
  • Record and report on incidents of challenging behaviour, as well as progress and outcomes of behaviour support plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to behaviour support and intervention.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant experience working with students with challenging behaviour in a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques, including deescalation and crisis intervention.
  • Understanding of social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students, and ability to implement appropriate interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
