The team Our Clinical Negligence Team advises clients who have suffered life changing injuries as a result of medical negligence.

This team provides not only the extensive experience required to help clients with their claims in this complex area of law, but are also equipped with the emotional skills and understanding that extend far beyond technical expertise

The role Providing admin and typing services, supporting Partners and Legal Advisors within the Clinical Negligence Team.

This role is to provide on-the ground assistance to Partners and Legal Advisors who are already supported by experienced PAs.

This role requiresproactive thinking to support the needs of our Legal Advisors.

Main responsibilities This role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Typing of correspondence and documents.
  • Dealing with expenses claims.
  • Document production and amendments.
  • Preparing enclosures ready for signing and sending out with the post.
  • Opening and closing client files.
  • Filing and eFiling of incoming and outgoing post and correspondence.
  • Undertaking all client file management and archiving tasks.
  • Dealing with production of and payment of invoices using internal SAP systems.
  • Liaising with clients over the telephone.
  • Answering the telephone to experts and counsel and dealing with routine enquiries.
Skills and qualifications

  • Previous admin and typing experience.
  • Excellent document production skills, in particular within Word, updating complex documents.
  • Selfmotivated and able to work without supervision and to a high standard.
  • Excellent and accurate keyboard skills required, as you will be required to obtain typing speeds to a minimum of 60 wpm.
  • Taking care and attention in relations to all correspondence and documentation.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to change, new practices and cope under pressure.
  • Excellent presentation skills reflected in work produced.
  • A methodical and organised approach with keen attention paid to every detail.
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that tasks are effectively scheduled within the working time available and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales.
  • Occasional ability to be flexible as regards working hours to meet the demands of the work and the team.
  • Friendly and helpful approach to dealing with queries.
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
  • Ability to prioritise, be organised and efficient.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Able to integrate within a team as well as working on one's own initiative.
  • Work as part of a team, ensuring telephone/lunch/holiday/sickness cover.
  • Ability to be proactive and deliver a quality service to both internal and external clients.
Previous experience within a legal setting would be helpful but not essential.
