Smart Recruit Group are looking for experienced and reliable Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers to provide person centred care to clients within local Residential and Nursing homes in Hexham and the surrounding areas.

As a health care assistant, you will be supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society to live the most independent and fulfilling life possible.

This position requires a natural friendliness and you should be able to establish warm, professional relationships with elderly service users; therefore, we are looking for Healthcare Assistants with a caring and compassionate nature.

You will provide individual care as required by each person you care for in order to meet and fulfil their personal needs whilst ensuring that each person's dignity and individuality is upheld and their independence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing personal care and emotional support.
  • Communicating clearly with residents and their families.
  • Light domestic responsibilities.
  • Following care plans and other instructions.
  • Safe moving and handling of service users.
  • Supporting with medication administration.
  • Participation in activities in the home and out in the community.
  • Undertaking shifts on short notice.
It is essential that you meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least 6 months paid experience as a care assistant /care worker or support worker within the last 2 years.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Hold a valid DBS registered with the online update service or you should be willing to pay for a full DBS Check.
  • Able to provide references details for the last four years employment.
  • You should have excellent communication skills.

Job Types:

£10.00-£20.00 per hour
