- Secondary Teaching Assistant to work in a 1:1 setting with a child who has Autism.
The ideal ASD Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.
Requirements:
Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting students with ASD.Ability to show empathy, compassion and resilience.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
DBS (preferably on the update service).
