We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-skilled Engineer to join the Engineering team at our Ultrapharm site as part of Finsbury Food Group.

Ultrapharm is a dedicated Gluten Free Bakery specialising in only Gluten Free Product since 1993. The Company's unique approach to craft and baking creates premium gluten – free products with the flavour and taste of traditional bread. If you have special dietary need or nutritional preferences, then our Pontypool bakery has you covered. Our Products range from artisanal bread to our award winning Hot cross buns and Mince pies for Major Retailers such as M&S and Waitrose.

The Multi-skilled Engineer is an onsite fast paced role that will be responsible for working as an active part of our cross – functional maintenance team. You will be required to have excellent electrical and mechanical engineering skills along with strong organisational skills to be able to successfully function our site CMMS system. You will work within our Engineering department and will have a thorough and detailed approach to maintenance work with a proven track record of fault finding.

To be successful in this role, previous experience in Food Manufacturing is desirable but not essential. You will have good communication skills being able to mentor and coach other engineers and production operators. You will actively participate within the continuous improvement culture, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce site waste and maintenance spends.

This is what you'll actually do

As a Multi-skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for taking ownership of site breakdowns and ensuring a quick diagnosis with corrective action. You'll ensure that the correct Health and Safety and Hygiene standards are followed at all times, whilst adhering to good working practices throughout. As a team, you will make sure that the planned maintenance is completed to a strict schedule whilst always looking for improvements to ensure the reliability of the equipment and supporting the sites efficiency targets.

This role provides opportunity for learning and development, and they would take an active role in project developments.

Ideally this is you

Be a Time Served Apprentice or have an NVQ Level 3 equivalent. Skills within both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Strong Communication Skills Excellent Attention to detail Have previous experience in fault finding Achievement of their 18th edition electrical certification PLC proven programming capability Have the skills to be able to mentor and coach other Engineers General PC skills
