Quality Control Inspector

Scope of the Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a QC inspector to join our team in Newport Pagnell.

Reporting directly to the QC Manager, the role will focus on monitor the quality of incoming finished goods and ensure that products meet the specified quality standards set, before being sent to customers.


The quality inspector's job role involves analysing the measurements, conducting tests, and reviewing products to make sure they meet the requirements.

Any products that fail to meet the required quality standards are dispositioned correctly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual/technical/measurements tests and where necessary quarantining products for corrective action.
  • Prioritising inspections on a risk basis based on supplier/product performance/history.
  • Ensuring required Due Diligence documents are adhered to.
  • Ensuring packaging, labelling, weights, and measures are legal and factually correct.
  • Monitoring and acting on customer complaints, escalating concerns/specific issues to my line manager as required.
  • Deputising in the absence of my line manager, where appropriate.
  • Ensuring inspection results are entered correctly on to the QC tracker for report generation.
  • Taking ownership of noncompliances and quarantine in my area whilst keeping my line manager always updated.
  • Minimising cost and risk throughout the supply chain and product range, ensuring appropriate controls are in place for consistency and quality of products & packaging.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Championing 'What Good Look Likes' and promoting best practices to our suppliers.
  • Supporting any other reasonable requests within the job remit as required by the business.

Key Skills and Attributes:

Excellent attention to detail.
Computer literate
Strong understanding Microsoft Office required (Outlook; Excel; Word)
Strong understanding of quality control processes and methodology
Basic understanding of UK safety regulation (General Product Safety Regulations)
2-4 years of directly relevant quality inspection experience

Salary:
£30,000.00 per year
