You'll help cultivate a strong internal culture by sharing good news stories, promoting pride and purpose within our fire family.


You'll expertly craft campaign plans for various communication channels, collaborating with partner agencies to ensure consistency, and engaging with local and national media to offer our professional voice on incidents and safety messages while managing our external reputation.

You'll analyse the effectiveness of our communications efforts and budget, reporting back to the Senior Leadership Team.

You'll be part of our on-call rota, providing strategic communications advice and support 24/7, while assisting the Communication Manager and stepping in as their deputy when needed.


Prior experience in local government or blue light communications would be beneficial, as is the ability to build effective relationships through partnership working across organisational and professional boundaries.
