Job Description
  • Strategically and effectively managing the team, ensuring that they are being developed, have direction, and are provided with meaningful feedback
  • Planning production in accordance with the daily schedule as well as an overview of all activities carried out in the production area
  • Understanding of all special meals and full knowledge of allergens
  • Ensuring meal specifications are adhered to at all times, weight checks are consistently conducted, and the highest quality of every dish is maintained with every component
  • Maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of working areas at all times for auditing purposes
  • Controlling out of date produce and adhering to FIFO (first in first out ) process
  • Understanding of functional and departmental goals as well as overall DO & CO business strategy
  • Being a role model and leading a team to ensure the exceptional DO & CO quality is delivered on time with maximum efficiency in accordance with DO & CO regulations as set by the Quality Assurance team
  • Plan, coordinate and direct the daily duties of the production areas such as: staffing levels, ordering of agency workers, equipment ordering and inventory control, customer communication, systems check/ update, etc.
  • Ensuring operations adhere to all SOP's and ALL relevant Critical Control Points, Health and Safety, Food safety and all legal requirements
  • Defining systems of working to ensure quality of product, problems are resolved with solutions and continuous improvement initiatives are instigated
  • Providing reports on productivity and other performance indicators to management
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with all department section managers, ensuring the provision of a positive and professional service that elevates the DO & CO reputation and any highlighted problems have an implemented solution
  • Driving success by proactively managing team performance, provide development and succession planning opportunities
  • Ensuring the effective development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures, ensuring their consistent and compliant application
  • Proactively taking steps to ensure own skills and knowledge continue to improve in all aspects including technical and leadership
  • Forward, strategic thinking leader always looking to exceed targets and expectations of the unit whilst maintaining the collectiveness of the team and culture of DO & CO (Ensure OTIF performance is maintained)
  • Maintaining good working relationships with all DO & CO family members
  • Financial management and accountability as well as precise and accurate reporting to Senior Management
  • Taking responsibility for all your actions, support your team, and celebrate successes as a family
Qualifications
  • Confidence in leading a team, ready to roll up your sleeves and do what is needed to give our partners the best service with a problem-solving mentality
  • Passion for high-end cuisine, love for food and motivation to deliver exceptional service
  • Well presented, professional individual with a can-do, positive attitude that indulges in team success
  • The ability to be a positive change champion for DO & CO, identifying key impact areas and priorities and supporting change programmes and strategies in order to gain optimal results
  • Meticulous attention to detail and data driven with the ability to influence and educate
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, mentoring and motivating, creating a team spirit, encouraging them to be at their best
  • You are a clear and engaging communicator, strong written and verbal English, and will use a variety of methods to keep the team well informed
  • Flexible in the way you think, making decisions efficiently and handling change to ensure everything we do is right for our partners and the DO & CO family
  • Have a great understanding and working knowledge of the whole unit and be the expert in delivering practical actions for its improvement by taking a hands-on approach
  • Previous experience in a similar role or experience within a fresh food industry related sector
  • Highly proficient in excel with excellent working knowledge of reporting
  • Previous flight catering system knowledge (SAP)
  • Financial awareness -good, strong numerical reasoning ability as precise and accurate reporting is required to Senior Management
