An opportunity has arisen for a fun, committed and motivated Play Worker to join our friendly team at Brighouse SOS.

SOS is an out of school and holiday club based on-site at Woodhouse Primary School.

We are a long-established not-for-profit organisation which is highly focussed on health and well-being, providing a safe and fun environment for children aged 4-11 years old.


Term time working hours:
Monday to Friday 7:10am - 8:45am and 2:45pm - 5:45pm.

School Holidays:
Up to 30 hours per week to cover service needs. The club is open Monday to Friday 7:15am - 5:45pm. We are a flexible setting, willing to accommodate specific needs where possible.

Roles and Responsibilities
To be up to date in all areas of Safeguarding, PREVENT, ,Whistleblowing, Lockdown, SEN, Confidentiality, EYFS and Equal Opportunities.


To provide safe, creative and stimulating play activities to meet the needs of all children aged 4 and 11 years of age.

Set up play spaces prior to the children arriving and involve children in the planning of activities.

To provide a warm and caring environment which meets the needs of all children at the setting.

To follow health and safety policies. To carry out safety checks and undertake risk assessments.

To supervise children in all aspects of indoor and outdoor play and external trips.

To safely escort children to and from Woodhouse Primary School and to hand over to parents/carers.

Contribute positively at staff meetings.

Establish good relationships with parents and colleagues.

Act as Key worker for designated children.

Prepare and serve a range of healthy breakfasts and after school meals.

Undertake cleaning and tidying duties.

To administer first aid as appropriate.

Carry out basic administration tasks e.g. answering telephone, taking messages, responding to queries.

Undertake training as required and contribute to on-going professional development.

Personal Specification
Level 2 NVQ Childcare Qualification

DBS
First Aid Certificate

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Experience of working with children aged 4-11 years old

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills

Act as a positive role model
