My client, a leading contractor, is seeking a Water Network Supervisor to join their team for a project in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the Water/Utilities sector. The role initially starts on a contract basis with the possibility of becoming permanent, offering a competitive rate of up to £25.22 per hour via Umbrella. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in network operations within the clean water industry. The position will primarily involve daytime work but may require occasional night shifts to support complex tasks and provide assistance to night workers. They are also open to applications from skilled Network Operatives with Valve Operations experience who are interested in transitioning into a management role.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading a variety of field-based activities, including valve operations, asset investigation, and water quality tasks such as flushing and sampling.
- Managing the daily operations of field workers to ensure safe and efficient task completion.
- Mentoring field staff, sharing expertise, conducting routine audits, and ensuring work quality and equipment maintenance.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for on-site employees.
- Communication with management, field staff, and office personnel to maintain effective communication.
- Offering solutions for complex tasks, supporting staff on-site, using GIS for planning, and providing necessary documentation.
- Conducting monthly audits, updating workers on procedures, and organizing team meetings and toolbox talks.
- Enforcing proper PPE usage at all times.
