The Role: Surf Coach
The
Surf Coach Team are responsible for delivering our Surf Lessons and Sessions,
they play a critical role in introducing people to our sport; creating a safe
and positive environment and enabling people to achieve their goals within
their desired timescales.
Role Overview
§
Delivering
the day to day Surf Lessons and Sessions experience at the Lost Shore Surf
Resort (LSSR), Edinburgh.
§
Working
as the Team Leader of the Surf Coach Team.
§
Accountable
for delivering a world class visitor experience in Surf Operations and ensuring
that everything is safe, hygienic and legally compliant.
§
Reporting
to the Surf Operations Manager (SOM), working with the Head Coach and the Head
Lifeguard.
Visitor
Experience: Working
with the Head Coach and the Head Lifeguard to understand visitor needs, exceed
expectations, and achieve targets for visitor satisfaction and return rates,
ensuring high-quality, timely, and budget-conscious service delivery in Surf
Operations.
Working
as a Team: Fostering
a positive work culture alongside the Head Coach and the Head Lifeguard,
staying responsive to feedback, maintaining clear communication channels,
addressing challenges promptly, and ensuring adherence to People Policies and
Procedures within the Surf Coach Team.
Financial Aspirations: Collaborating with the Head Coach and the Head Lifeguard to manage Surf Operations budget, revenue targets, and adherence to financial policies, while supporting overall departmental income goals.
Ways of Working: Ensuring strict adherence to the LSSR's Health and Safety
policies, maintaining up-to-date training records and compliance with Risk
Assessments, overseeing Surf Lessons and Sessions within regulatory boundaries,
fostering a robust H&S culture, leading incident responses, and ensuring accurate
incident documentation within the Surf Coach Team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
§ ISA Level 1 qualification desireable
§ Thrives

excellence.
§ Customer-centric
mindset, rejecting mediocrity and consistently striving for top-tier standards.
§ Exceptional
interpersonal skills, adept at motivating, leading, and inspiring others to
success.
§ Exemplary
organisational and time-management abilities, coupled with meticulous attention
to detail, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and effectively.
§ Successfully complete PVG through Disclosure Scotland
Additional Information:
As
a Surf Coach you'll need to be flexible with your schedule. Our resort operates
seven days a week, and early morning, late evening and weekend work will be
required. Your commitment to ensuring the resort's smooth operation during peak
times is essential.
