I am currently collaborating with a prominent Developer situated in South London, who is keen on adding a new member to the quantity surveying team.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will directly report to the Commercial Director and manage two key projects. One project is an active site comprising 200 units, while the other is in the pre-construction phase with over 350 units, expected to go live this year.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for career progression, with the potential to advance from an AQS to a QS within a span of 16 months, given the division's projected growth from 700 to 900 units annually.

The ideal Assistant QS for this position is someone prepared to take on more responsibilities and step up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost planning and feasibility studies
  • Reviewing tenders and engaging contractors
  • Managing contractors' re-measurements, interim and final account settlements
  • Contract production and administration
  • Conducting pre and post-tender meetings, assessing tender inquiries, estimating costs, and preparing contract documents for commercial and industrial projects
  • Evaluating and negotiating variations and claims
  • Assessing cost efficiency of products, projects, or services by tracking actual costs against initial bids as the project progresses
