Job Description

Specification Technologist

Alexander Steele have partnered with a leading food manufacturing businesses in the Suffolk area. Our client is seeking for an experienced specification technologist to join the business on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing and developing specifications for new and existing products that the business offers.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to develop and modify product specifications ensuring that they meet with the specified legal and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as npd team, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to obtain necessary information for specification development.
  • Stay up to date with local and international food labeling regulations, including allergen and nutrition labeling.

Background Experience:

  • Degree in Food Science
  • 1+ years of experience in a specification technologist role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience creating and managing/writing food product specifications.
  • Strong understanding of food ingredient functionality, nutritional analysis, and allergen management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
