  • About this opportunity
  • As the Caretaker and Building Cleaner you will:
  • Supervise and undertake the cleaning and preparation of rooms, toilets and kitchens in accordance with procedures and the requirements of the Hostel. This will involve having a basic working knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals.
  • Use of various tools and equipment to ensure that cleansing is carried out to a high standard e.g. mops, dusters, brushes etc.
  • To ensure that there are sufficient supplies of cleaning products and catering supplies for the building.
  • Ensure the safe use and storage of allcleaning materials and equipment, paying special attention to the use of chemical solutions in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety precautions are observed to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Comply with the relevant duties and responsibilities under the Health & Safety Work etc. Act 1974. All relevant Codes of Safe Working Practice, policies and other health and safety information relevant to Building Cleaning Services.
  • To undertake light DIY duties in order to maintain a good working standard within the hostel
  • Manual handling will be required in order to pack up residents belongs for short term storage.
