Job summary

Are you an Education Lead (Driving) looking for a new challenge and wishing to develop your skill set?

Due to staff changes within the Driving Faculty we are looking for a candidate to join our established Education Team Leader (Driving) team. If successful at the interview and assessment stage you will move in to the team leader role working alongside the current team members in order to facilitate a thorough handover.

For our successful candidate we will provide the necessary support to transition in to a Team Leader role within the faculty, including training on the various systems and processes you will be required to engage with on a day to day basis. The work our Education Team Leaders (Driving) undertake is critical to the daily functioning of our team and the wider service. We engage with key internal and external stakeholders, in order that our team fulfils its core function of training new Paramedics and Emergency Care Assistants response driving skills which they will use everyday to reach our patients quickly and safely.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for ensuring that all Driver Training Officers meet the minimum required standards of competence by devising and delivering training and regular assessment and testing

Prepare, present and report on FutureQuals (and other regulatory bodies)

Provide reports to the head of Driver Training and Development andcompliance ensuring that the faculty meets the core minimum standards

Be responsible for devising, delivering, monitoring and reporting on bespoke driving courses using advanced teaching, training, motivational and reassurance skills

Be responsible for proposing on new policy and to give advice on existingpolicy including amendments regarding driving and technical compliance (including law) on a Trust wide basis.

Be responsible for supporting the Driving Standards Lead with investigations relating to driving complaints or collisions

Undertake research and Development into techniques, vehicle systems and equipment as required by the Trust.

Full driving license required Driving licence must contain category C1, or C or C+E FutureQuals CERAD Driving Qualification or equivalent Full DERADI qualification (Diploma in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Instruction) Experience in emergency response driving Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) L4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) or other equivalent educational teaching qualification CAVA (Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement) Award

Register of Large Goods Vehicle qualified instructor DSA fleet Driving Instructor National Principal Assessor L5 Diploma in Education and Training IQA Award

Previous experience (Paid/ Unpaid relevant to job)

Significant experience of delivering driving instruction at varying levels Experience in managing own workload Have experience in delivering tests and assessments at a very high level
