The North Westminster Community Mental Health Hub, based in Woodfield Road is looking for a passionate Mental Health Nurse who is looking to make a difference whilst working in an environment that promotes staff development and training opportunities.

There are 2 Community Mental Health Hubs in Westminster, one North and one in the South, each is aligned to two local Primary Care Networks (PCN).

Working in this way allows each Hub to have a core structure and function to meet the needs of the local population, aligned with our primary care colleagues.

The successful applicant will take the day to day clinical and team management responsibility at team level using performance management systems to ensure the effective delivery of clinical activity and quality standards to meet service specifications.

You will also be expected to work in collaboration with the Operational Team Manager, Clinical Leads/Senior Practitioners and to have close working relationships with the Inpatient Service and HTT.

Overview of Main Responsibilities:

In conjunction with the team manager:

  • To be the clinical team leader for the CMHT, responsible for the clinical practice of the team and ensuring that priorities are met.
  • To assist and deputise for colleagues in the Mental Health Hub other subteam as necessary
  • To line manage CPNs, OTs, unqualified staff and to line manage the work of the psychologists.
  • To ensure systems for the delivery of CPA and Personalisation are in place and that they are made available to service users in the team
  • To work within the relevant legislative frameworks |(e.g. Mental Health Act Mental Capacity Act (2005), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLs), the Care Act 2014 etc
  • To promote a culture of service user choice and control within team members daily practice to be monitored and developed through supervision and appraisal
  • To ensure that the team works within the relevant frameworks and policies for safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • To ensure that services within the multidisciplinary team are well coordinated in so that they are responsive and attuned to the needs of its service users
  • To ensure that systems are in place for monitoring assessments, allocation, caseloads and clinical review processes
  • To ensure that clinical supervision is given to all health qualified staff in the team and to ensure that staff work to high standards of professional practice.
  • To demonstrate a high level of clinical competence both in relation to supervision of staff and direct face to face contact with service users
