OneNorwich Practices is hiring


Do you have some spare time on a Saturday to be part of a new and exciting service supporting practices across the Norwich Primary Care Network.


We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to assist the Enhanced Access team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

You will be working under the supervision of the clinical team and strictly in accordance with specific One Norwich Practices Ltd guidelines and protocols.

Saturday session - 4-6 hrs per day depending on service requirements.

Access to transport required as you will be working across various locations within Norwich.

Mileage will be reimbursed from base location.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Annual patient health checks
  • Covid / Influenza Vaccines
  • Spirometry
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Clearing and restocking consulting rooms
  • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs and Nurses when required
  • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and wellbeing
  • Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
  • Helping to raise awareness of health and wellbeing and how it can be promoted
  • Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and wellbeing
  • Wound care
  • Running own clinics

Essential:

  • A demonstrable commitment to professional development
  • Phlebotomy and venepuncture trained
  • Vaccination trained
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, able to communicate difficult messages to patients and families
  • Able to use own judgement, resourcefulness and with a common sense approach
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Able to work as part of an integrated multiskilled team
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to work in a changing environment
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public/patients
  • Patient centred approach

Desirable:

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent
  • Working as a Healthcare Assistant within a primary care setting
