Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain health and safety policies in accordance with current legislation, ensuring a safe workplace environment.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits, identifying potential hazards and implementing preventative measures.
  • Lead and manage the warehouse team, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and monitor operational procedures to maximise productivity while maintaining quality standards.
  • Liaise with other departmental managers to ensure smooth operations and effective interdepartmental communication.
  • Manage staff training on health and safety regulations, equipment handling, and emergency response protocols.
  • Investigate any incidents or accidents, compiling detailed reports and recommending improvements to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
  • Stay abreast of new legislation and advancements in technology that may impact warehouse operations or health and safety procedures

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in warehouse management and health & safety oversight.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent organisational and timemanagement abilities.
  • Indepth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proficient in the use of warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • NEBOSH or similar health and safety qualification is highly desirable.
