This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Global Networks team within Scottish Enterprise, in a pivotal role offering a variety of projects and plenty of scope for development in a customer-focused environment.


Global Networks supports the delivery of the Scottish Government's strategic plans: 'A Trading Nation', 'Shaping Scotland's Economy: Scotland's Inward Investment Plan' and 'Investing with Purpose: the Global Capital Investment Plan'; and directly contributes to Scottish Enterpise's Corporate Plan.


You'll support delivery of the GlobalScot support service - which leverages the strengths of the global diaspora to help Scottish businesses drive their export growth.

You'll also work with the Talent Scotland team focusing on attracting international talent and companies to Scotland, and the teams organising International Visits and Events.


The role:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support for the team and GlobalScots on the GlobalScot digital platform
  • Data processing, analytics and reporting for monthly and quarterly reports to track measures and impact
  • Providing data for external partners and stakeholders as requested
  • Providing data in PowerPoint presentations
  • Managing spreadsheets
  • Supporting delivery of events online and in person
  • Managing calendars for meetings
  • Working as part of a larger project team on discreet projects such as major global events or significant ministerial visits
  • Handling customer support enquiries received by online form or by phone

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for a hands-on individual with strong technical and interpersonal skills, and a keen interest in our work.

IT skills are important, but you'll also be trained to use systems including SharePoint, PowerBI, Web Content Management, Eventbrite and SurveyMonkey.


Your skills, abilities and experience should include:

  • Educated to SCQV Level 8 with some experience in a similar administrative role
  • Competence in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to plan and prioritise a highly varied workload and work with a range of competing priorities and deadlines
  • A flexible attitude with a strong customer focus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence talking to colleagues and external contacts at all levels
Ideally, but not essentially, you'll also have customer facing experience.
