We are looking for a Site Agent, Site Manager, Foreman, or Works Manager to lead direct teams and subcontractors in Staffordshire and Shropshire. No need for overnight stays since all projects are local.

BASIC SALARY:
Up to £55,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Site Agent, Foreman, Civil Site Manager, Works Manager – Highways, Civil, Groundworks, Construction.


As a Site Agent with experience in Civil works, you will manage various local projects daily.

You will ensure all personnel and equipment are on-site as scheduled, oversee work progress, inspect quality, and keep clients informed.


Project durations range from 2-16 weeks, all within an hour's drive of Stoke-on-Trent, allowing you to return home every evening without the need for extensive travel or overnight stays.

The projects, primarily Civil-focused, include:

  • Roads, Car Parks & Estate Management
  • Public Highways, Footpaths & Crossings
  • Drives & Dropped Kerbs
  • Specialist Surfacing
  • Groundworks & General Civil Engineering
  • External Works & Landscaping


This role involves various responsibilities such as measurement & ordering, contract management, stock delivery, team leadership, quality and time management, Health & Safety compliance, customer relations, fleet management, and ensuring overall operational safety and efficiency.


PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Site Manager, Foreman, Site Agent, Civil Site Manager, Works Manager – Highways, Civil, Groundworks, Construction.


You should have proven experience as a Site Agent, Site Foreman, Civil Site Manager, Works Manager, or Project Manager.


Your background should include working with subcontractors, civil engineering, or surfacing, with a progression to Foreman from a Trade background.

You must also have experience in directly managing employed teams, not solely subcontractors.

You should also be able to demonstrate:

  • Understanding of costs and programs and their tracking.
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, tools, and plant machinery.
  • Effective people management skills and enjoy engaging with clients.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and quick thinking.
  • Proficiency in IT tools like Excel, Word, etc., and experience using work-related apps on mobile devices.
If you hold qualifications such as SMSTS or Streetworks Certification, it would be advantageous but not mandatory.


You likely have previously held roles in Site Management, Foremanship, Civil Site Management, Works Management, or have experience in Highways, Civil Engineering, Groundworks, Construction, Subcontracting, or Surfacing.
