What can you expect:


As a Pension Technical and Research Associate Consultant based in our Technical, Research & Investment (TRI) team, you will play a vital role in this busy central team providing assistance with supporting MMB pension colleagues in relation to technical issues on their contract-based DC clients and general research of the DC pension provider market.


You will also be heavily involved in producing and updating both client and member communications, with the opportunity to develop our service offering in this space.

This is a non-client facing role.

Support and training will be provided within the TRI team to the successful applicant to help them develop into the role.


The role includes:

  • Review of new legislation and relevant industry consultations, and assisting with the production of legislation updates for external clients and MMB colleagues
  • Production of member communication material which can cover a broad range of pension topics, and in particular, salary exchange. This will involve giving input on both content and design, liaising with the internal marketing team and project managing delivery within deadlines
  • Assist with the production of detailed technical guides for use with external clients and/or MMB colleagues
  • Assist with the production of thoughtleadership articles, looking at topical issues
  • Dealing with adhoc technical queries
  • Involvement in the provider research process including adhoc research projects
  • Production of more complex provider recommendation reports

  • Meet all reasonable internal deadlines, and assist MMB pension consultants in meeting client deadlines as required
  • Meet all agreed communication protocols
  • Ensure accuracy in all aspects of work and record keeping

What you need to have:

  • At least 2 year's pensions experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good presentation and writing skills, and proficient in the use of Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Must be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to providing high quality service to clients through the central services and support provided by the TRI team.
  • Must be proactive, willing to undertake thorough research into technical issues and have the ability to analyse details.
  • Experience of working with clients on automatic enrolment would be an advantage.
