About the Role

Bennetts End Surgery is looking to expand the patient services team by hiring a proactive, dependable, and diligent individual for the role of patient services assistant. The position involves working on a fixed rota during full-time hours, with occasional Saturday shifts.

  • Answering telephone calls
  • Processing registrations
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills across various channels
  • Efficiently handling documents and patient discharge summaries
  • Booking appointments
  • Supporting the electronic prescription service
  • Liaising with different care providers
  • Showing empathy, patience, and professionalism in patient care
  • Following practice procedures and protocols
  • Assisting in patient care delivery and chaperoning
  • Safeguarding vulnerable patient groups
  • Adhering to legal, ethical, and regulatory responsibilities
  • Engaging in continuous professional development
  • Assisting in various tasks to ensure the surgery runs smoothly

Flexibility is key as the role may require working different hours to cover shifts.

Skills and experience required:

  • Ideally previous medical/healthcare receptionist experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Respectful, confidential, and empathetic attitude

  • Strong IT and administration skills
