Purpose of the Voluntary role:
Evergreen support's a large number of elderly and vulnerable people in our local community. We often receive one off 'help requests' from the people we serve.

The 'help requests' are put out to our Community Support Volunteers, who if they are available and have the skills required, the Community Support Volunteers step forward to meet these requests for help.

Help requests are varied and could be someone needing a lift to a doctors appointment or help putting up a shelf or help with their garden.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to members 'Help Requests' (if you are available and it is a request you feel comfortable to meet).
  • Update the Volunteer Services Manager or Evergreen reception once 'Help request' has been completed
  • Follow Health & Safety Guidance
  • Uphold the values of Evergreen Care Trust
  • Represent Evergreen in a friendly and professional manner at all times

Key relationships:

  • Working with other Community Support Volunteers
  • Working with Members of Staff delivering the Trust's 'Paid for' Services
  • Working alongside other volunteer Groups within the Trust

Skills, Qualifications and experience required:
No specific skills are required - it is a case of only accepting tasks you feel comfortable and competent to do

It is essential you have good communication skills, are friendly, professional and comfortable engaging with older and vulnerable people

Training and support required:

  • Mandatory Online Safeguarding training
  • The role will be supported by the Volunteer Services Manager.
  • Most 'help requests' are selfexplanatory and do not need specific training e.g. giving someone a lift.

Availability of parking at work location:
Limited parking at Evergreen Care Office in Stamford. Most help requests are onsite at members homes so parking can be varied upon location.

Expenses:
Evergreen will endeavour to provide all relevant equipment for the role

Is this role eligible for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which is renewable every three years? YES / NO

If Yes, what level of DBS check is required for the role?
