Purpose of Role
Ensuring the continuous improvement of product quality and the implementation of associated quality assurance systems. To understand the technical expectations of the customer. To be a member of Brace's New Product Development team with specific regard to recipe formulation and product specification/appearance.

Key Role Accountabilities

  • To support the technical expectations and requirements of the customer.
  • Take responsibility for new product development briefs submitted to the business, managing the process through to launch, and ensuring samples are made and presented to the customer.
  • Facilitate process, product, and ingredient trials as appropriate and ensure proper reporting and documentation.
  • To attend customer product quality assessment sessions.
  • Liaise with Production Management to continuously review production process with a view to improving methods and standards of operation.
  • Encourage effective corrective action through product and data review processes.
  • To attend and participate in customer KPI meetings/ business sales meetings.
  • Completion of customer product specifications and QAS' for individual products including: o Nutritional Declarations o Ingredient Declarations o Allergen Statements
  • To organise routine product quality monitoring in line with the quality assurance process.
  • To support the Quality Manager in facilitating the advancement of product quality assurance processes.
  • Assist in the management and control of product recipes and specifications.
  • To be a member of the company's HACCP team.
  • Maintain individual ingredient reviews e.g., palm, on a monthly basis in line with standard.
  • Complete supplier and raw material assurance process. Maintain existing system and update as new ingredients and suppliers are introduced.
  • Artwork approval adhering to legal labelling and nutritional regulations.

Communication

  • Effectively communicate to team member's business developments, procedures and requirements and ensure they are clearly understood.
  • Effective communication with the customer to understand and adhere to their expectations and demands.

Training

  • To undertake training as required to update knowledge and experience and/or according to industry and business needs.
  • To train production staff in Bakery technology and process awareness.

Quality

  • Maintain the highest quality standard procedures.
  • To ensure all quality documentation is completed.

Hygiene

  • Ensure area of work is maintained in a hygienic manner.
  • Adhere to all hygiene policies and procedures.

Cleanliness

  • Ensuring that all working practices are in line with the company procedures.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure the compliance to all company health and safety procedures.
  • Ensure the adherence to statuary regulations and legislation that affect the production of food.

Food Safety

  • Ensure all activities in the area are carried out in accordance with Food Safety Procedures.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping adopting the 'clean as you go' approach.

Key Skills and Accountabilities
