Targeted Lung Health Check Administrator

The Targeted Lung Health project builds on several landmark studies which have sought to diagnose patients with lung cancer earlier by identifying the population at increased risk of lung cancer, and then inviting them for a health check and low dose CT scan in an accessible and convenient place.
To work as a member of the Targeted Lung Health Check team to perform a range of administrative and system support functions under the guidance of the administration team supervisor, as required.
The post-holder will provide patients with a first point of contact, providing patients with information on the Targeted Lung Health Check project, assisting them with making an appointment with our Nursing team to have their Health Check, calling patients and sending results to patients.
The post-holder may also be asked to help provide some aspects of the lung health check to patients, including taking height and weight measurements.
To support the Nursing team, to ensure the systems and processes are maintained efficiently and effectively to support the delivery of the Lung Health Check Project.
Main tasks and responsibilitiesCommunication
- Deal courteously, efficiently and confidentially with all enquires
- Initial point of contact for the PACS team and radiographers carrying out scans
- Assisting with basic queries from EPR team
- Assisting with queries from senior project leadership
- General clerical duties and admin support for the Lung Health Check Team
- Book patients in for a lung health check, in adherence to the project protocol
- Undertake any additional training that may be required, including workshops and attendance at relevant meetings
- Assisting with managing project protocol and procedures
- Responsible for the generation and sending out of letters relating to the project
- Support the team to maintain appropriate level of medical equipment for the health check tests
- Maintain appropriate level of stock of patient leaflets, evaluation forms and stationary to support the project
- To assist in the training/supervision of new members of staff.
- To be able to prioritise and manage own workload and coordinate with other members of the team to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Assisting with data management on the hospital systems including EPR, Lorenzo, PACS/RIS, Infoflex and EPIC
- Logging imaging/EPR/IT related calls with the PACS/EPR/IT team and assisting with resolution of issues on behalf of the Lung Health Check team
- Assisting in tasks to update and maintain integrity of the Infoflex and various other patient databases
- To abide by the Trust's Core behaviours for staff and all other Trust policies, codes and practices including standing financial instructions, research governance, clinical governance, patient and public involvement, codes and practices, and health and safety.
