Plymouth, Plymouth, United Kingdom St Lukes Hospice Plymouth Full time

Part-time opportunities available.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated professional to specialise in end of life care.

St Luke's is delivering on its vision of a 'Hospice without Walls' with the support of its End of Life Urgent Care Team. As a Registered Nurse for the End of Life Urgent Care Service you will assist in supporting community-based end of life (EOL) patients in meeting their preferred place of care/death and prevent inappropriate admission to secondary care.

To be a part of this caring and compassionate team as a Band 5 Nurse, you will need to be able to work autonomously and be responsible for ongoing holistic assessments and planning of care to meet the patient's practical, psychological, spiritual, and social needs.

You will work closely with both primary and secondary care health professionals and other Hospice colleagues; therefore, good communication skills are essential.

Applicants must be RGN 1st Level with at least one year of experience, and be a car driver with a full license, able to travel independently to patients' homes.

St Luke's is a friendly, dynamic, and progressive organisation, where innovation and a 'can-do' ethos is championed; we would value those with the desire to work in this specialist area.

As a staff member of St Luke's, you will receive an attractive employment package, which includes 7 weeks' annual leave rising with service (inc. bank hols) and membership to a cash back health plan.

We would encourage informal discussions regarding this post with the Clinical Lead, Sarah Earl, on

St Luke's are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where everyone can bring their whole selves to work. We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in St Luke's workforce. These include people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people and LGBTQ+ people.
