About the role:

The Trading team implements GSR's trading strategies across its various business lines, including market making and over-the-counter trading. Working alongside GSR quants and engineers, the team constantly optimizes its trading algorithms developed over a decade and also implements more manually-driven strategies to both support firm and client trading activities. Additionally, the trading team implements the risk team's risk management strategies to ensure an acceptable level of balance sheet risk. In doing so, the trading team plays a vital role in maximizing trading P&L, managing firm risk, and most importantly, providing clients with world-class trading services.

The GSR Desk Analyst in Trading will add to our already world-class trading capabilities by overlaying a fundamental view on our trading strategies. The Desk Analyst will leverage their deep knowledge of cryptocurrencies to monitor the book for macro, crypto, and token-specific catalysts and risks, and will offer valuable recommendations around both individual positions and portfolio construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor balance sheet and risk positions from a deep fundamental viewpoint, both from a portfolio and individual token position perspective
  • Produce fundamental research-driven portfolio construction advice to maximize risk-adjusted returns, including via macro/crypto views, subsector theses, token-specific ideas, and more
  • Disseminate macro, industry, and token-specific catalysts and risks impacting risk positions to traders to optimize positioning and execution
  • Partner with engineers to continuously improve trading and risk analytics infrastructure for optimized insights
  • Present positions and recommendations at weekly trading and risk management meetings

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business, or engineering
  • 3+ years of research, trading, or strategy experience at a digital assets, finance or technology company
  • Strong knowledge of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and technical underpinnings is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial trading terms, including structured and derivatives products
  • Strong work ethic, with innate curiosity and desire to go above and beyond
  • Proven organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
