About the Job:

We are on the lookout for a Senior Application Developer (Contract) to be part of our Software Development crew in Milton Keynes, supporting our Contact Centre squad. You will have a bit of a mix with this role, spending 1 or 2 days a week at the office. As a key player in the Connells Group IT team, your mission will involve spearheading the development, maintenance, and enhancements of business systems using .NET technologies and SQL Server.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop secure and top-performing n-tier applications following the best practices in database application development with SQL
  • Create secure and efficient integrations with Internal or 3rd party systems using various approaches based on the technology stack available
  • Adopt best practice coding in line with Development coding standards
  • Collaborate with fellow Application Developers on projects or work independently when needed
  • Contribute to enhancing the overall development procedures and methodologies followed by the engineering crew

Experience & Skills:

Essential

  • Proficient in C# programming
  • Strong skills in SQL Server
  • Experience in optimizing SQL queries and enhancing performance
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Openness to learning, embracing, and promoting team best-practices, processes, and quality standards
  • Friendly, polite, and skilled in handling user issues and challenges within a high-pressure setting
  • Ready to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution, communicating efficiently and promptly along the way
  • Strong team player, with a background in sharing and presenting fresh ideas and methodologies with the team

Desirable

  • Familiarity with REST API
  • Demonstrated experience in unit testing new and existing applications
  • Experience with Web Forms
  • Proficiency in Crystal Reports
  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Prior involvement in excel report generation
