Lancashire, United Kingdom Lancashire County Council Full time
Salary £ £36298 per annum l Permanent l Full time, 37 hours per week

Are you an experienced and high performing Internal Auditor who has an open, forward-thinking approach to internal audit's role and function? We are looking for a self-motivated, positive individual to join a friendly and enthusiastic internal audit team, recognised across the organisation for the value it adds to improving strategic and operational effectiveness.

This is a wide-ranging role that includes working across all council services, schools, partner organisations and local authority trading companies.

You are an enthusiastic and innovative professional, with a strong audit background, and it is desirable, though not essential, that you are either qualified to or working towards Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors' Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk Qualification, or equivalent.

Reporting to the audit manager, you will deliver a range of audit assignments in a timely and efficient way to provide robust assurance over council activities.

You will work independently to provide advice and insight to senior managers and assurance to the council on its governance, risk management and control framework.

You have the confidence to deliver a workload of audits, quickly understanding and questioning processes, using your judgement to report balanced, robust findings and working with clients to improve services.

You have excellent attention to detail and written and verbal skills, and experience of solving problems including negotiating with clients, managing conflict and changing demands.

As an auditor you will need to understand the Council's aims, objectives and strategies including the related risks that might reasonably be expected to prevent the council from achieving its objectives.

You will need to be able to identify opportunities to add value to the services under review and the wider council.

To maintain our excellent relationships with clients you have excellent interpersonal skills and can work well with managers at all levels across all activities.

You will be an active and approachable member of the internal audit team, using your knowledge and experience to support colleagues.

In return Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits, which can be found on LCC Vacancies website.
