Production Team Leader - Mon to Fri - EVENING SHIFT (2.45PM TO 11.45PM)

About the role
This is a lead production role within our manufacturing remit covering e-liquid products.

Leading a team of 10+ this person will follow our pulling schedules and ensure that processing, bottling, labelling, assembly and packaging of products is managed inline with our policies and procedures.

We are looking for a go-getter who will lead a team to ensure that deadlines are met to the highest standards, and our products are 100% accurate and compliant as per our internal processes and procedures.

They must followsafety, legalities, and ensure quality is maintained as per GMP standards.

This is an on the production floor and hands on role and is an excellent time to join our company at a time of growth and opportunity.

Evening Shift hours : 2.45pm to 11.45pm.

Initial training period will be during core business hours : 9am to 6pm.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Leading and directing the production team and developing your own plan to meet daily targets
  • Handson approach to deliver manufactured goods within the allocated shift time
  • Team management including resourcing, rotas, overtime, training, performance management and conduct
  • Planning and scheduling daily output translating the schedule into an optimised clear plan for each machine throughout the shift
  • Lead the schedule keeping it up to date and stay on top of regular changes ensuring your production line is correct at all times
  • Proactive and communicate foreseen problems and issues that may arise
  • Ownership of completed supported documentation including batch codes and logs to meet regulations
  • Ensure QC (Quality Control) checks and procedures are met and carefully controlled
  • Responsible for change over checks, pallet keys and sourcing components for each job
  • Plan and prepare workstations in advance to maximise daily pulling time working to tight deadlines for bottles and components
  • Create and maintain the highest standards environment, leading by example to change behaviours and by keeping your environment safe and clean at all times
  • Deliver daily through handover from previous shift and ensure your handover in return is impeccable
  • Proactively meet with the head of the department for daily briefing and support sessions
  • Communicate with the production operations team and your line manager very closely ensuring planning and daily updates are discussed in a timely manner, inclusive of reporting major problems (e.g. if we cannot fulfil an order)
  • Support and strongly communicate with the on the floor production team to make them aware of any deadlines and changes, and performance manage their productivity throughout the shift
  • Set the standard of health and safety procedures and ensure they are complied with
  • Competent in daily machinery safety checks both inside and out our Labs/Cleanrooms
  • Report machinery repairs to call out team and meet safety requirements
  • Lead and deliver team training covering procedures, health and safety and other training to ensure we are working to the highest standards and quality to drive productivity within our team
  • Ensure quality standards are met and maintained
  • Any other adhoc duties as required

Skills and experience

  • 2+ years FMCG manufacturing experience (food, drinks, cosmetics etc) is essential
  • Experience within food manufacturing covering HACCP & GMP exposure and understanding is essential
  • Strong written and numerical skills
  • Must have extremely high attention to detail
  • Strong communications skills
  • They must have experience with leading a team of 10+ people or more
  • They must have strong people management skills (manage conduct, performance and resourcing)
  • Ability to carry out machine checks, set up ready for each shift
  • Quality control skills and experience
  • Must have understanding of GMP practices
  • Must understand health and safety regulations in line with safe practices and use of machinery and work equipment
  • Must have flexible approach; it is a requirement to work bank holidays and 3 days during Christmas and New Year
