What we are looking for:
We are looking for a professional and experienced Head of Technical & Sustainability to lead our Seafood Technical team. As a Technical & Sustainability head, you will maintain and drive the Technical and Sustainability strategies across the Seachill sites, via direct management of the Technical, Environmental Sustainability and NPD Process teams. Maintaining consistent quality, legal and food safety standards that drive both continuous improvement and the embed and support an evolving food safety culture.
Key responsibilities:
-The interface (for Technical and Sustainability), between the local site teams and Hilton Food Group, to ensure workstreams are aligned with and delivered against, the strategic central Technical objectives.
-Direct Management, coaching, and development of the Seachill factory Technical, NPD and Environmental teams.
-Overarching management of all risk assessments, ensuring they remain dynamic and relevant and reflect the current 'challenges' of the environmental 'Climate' against which they are based.
-Management of audits to deliver customers standards, policies, and required 3rd party audit standards.
-Proactive work with the sites leadership team to build and embed a continuously improving food safety culture in alignment and collaboration with, the central Hilton Food Group strategy.
-Collaborative engagement with the Seafood buying team to maintain and deliver robust supply chains.Supported with a risk assessment process and auditing programme, in line with customer and Hilton Food Group requirements.
-Monitoring and providing accurate KPI metrics, internally, to our customers and to Hilton Food Group, to demonstrate both compliance and continuous improvement, across the Seafood division.
-To form robust relationships with our customers, local home authority TSO and EHO officers to ensure our business is correctly represented and trusted.
-Contribute to the development of strategic objectives and procedures across Hilton Food Group, ensuring their effective implementation at site(s) level.
-Supporting the Sustainability teams to deliver and drive the assurance of farming & Fish welfare, ethical and environmental standards, to achieve and comply with Seachill, customer and Hilton Food Group policies.
-Working closely with the European Quality and Sustainability Director Added Value, to ensure alignment and a two-way flow of information sharing.
Required experience/expertise to succeed as Seafood Head of Technical & Sustainability will include:
-A proven track record for developing, leading and motivating high performing teams.
-Significant experience across a wide range of different manufacturing business and food categories, supported with both high and low risk experience.
-Ability to manage incidents coupled with strong diagnostic ability and effective risk management.
-Extensive supply chain experience across a range of Raw materials and supplying countries
-Experience in QA system implementation and development that demonstrates continuous improvement and underpins a Quality Culture.
-Knowledge of Seafood Sustainability industry and the ability to support both internal and external workstreams across this arena.
-Broad experience gained working with the major retailers and a trusted and earnt reputation for absolute integrity.
-Ability to simultaneously manage numerous strategic projects and workstreams.
-Degree level qualification in a related discipline supported with relevant Food safety certification.
-Extensive Technical experience across Seafood.
