£21,197 with progression to £22,662 per annum

The Role


We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Education Assistant to join the SAgE Faculty Professional Services team based in the SAgE Faculty Office.

We are looking for someone who will provide high level support to the Dean of Education and their associates.

You will contribute to the successful delivery of an excellent student and colleague experience through learning and teaching activities and quality assurance processes for which the team is responsible.


This role will also support the education function, working collegiately with the wider Professional Services teams in the Faculty together with internal stakeholders to provide a comprehensive administrative support and ensure the continuous smooth running of the faculty's taught programmes.


We are looking for an individual who is a confident communicator and who has great interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

It is essential that you possess excellent organisational skills and work in a timely and planned way, have a keen eye for detail and look to identify and implement improvements wherever possible.

Working with a variety of stakeholders, you will complete a range of administration tasks, demonstrating initiative, efficiency, attention to detail and a willingness to be flexible to support the wider team.

You should have Maths and English at GCSE Level 4 or equivalent and have relevant work experience (paid or voluntary) in an administrative or customer service setting.

The appointment is available immediately, is open-ended, and is offered on a full-time basis (37 hours per week).

Key Accountabilities
To provide personal support to the Dean and the Associate Deans within Education, prioritising complex diary management using judgement, where necessary, to prioritise work schedules, liaising with all relative parties in an efficient and effective way
To act as secretary to various committees by creating agendas, taking minutes, and following up to ensure actions are completed by the agreed date
To arrange travel and accommodation for the Dean/Associate Deans as necessary. To purchase goods and services which may include acting as an expert buyer on the University's Purchasing system (P2P)
Organise a series of regular meetings as well as ad hoc meetings including logístical arrangements such as room bookings, agenda preparation and circulation, minute taking and monitoring progress of actions
Proactively supporting the education related quality assurance activities of the unit and acting as a first point of contact for enquiries which may be from students and colleagues, referring onwards where appropriate
To contribute to the effective and efficient running of unit's activities through a team approach, aiding colleagues as appropriate
To work as part of a wider team and to undertake other duties within the scope and general nature of the grade which may be required
