Support Worker: Adults Supported Living

Position at Brook Street Social Care

Contract: flexible work arrangements available - zero-hour contracts, agency placements, ongoing contracts, and permanent positions. Part-time, full-time, and ad-hoc shifts accessible

Remuneration: Starting from £12 per hour (PAYE basis)

Hourly pay excludes holiday remuneration. For instance, £12 + holiday pay

Your primary responsibility involves offering support to highly self-reliant adults with cognitive challenges in their residence to foster autonomy, help with daily life skills and household chores, and encourage participation in the local community. You will also participate in both in-house and community events such as cinema outings, dining experiences, excursions, and medical appointments. Furthermore, you will contribute to establishing positive rapport with residents, their families, and co-workers.

An ideal candidate would be a driver with access to a personal vehicle, although this is not mandatory.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 6 months of care experience in the UK within the past year OR one year in the last five years
  • Legal right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
  • Willingness to undergo Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and reference verifications
  • Openness to providing personal care
  • Demonstrates approachability, friendliness, proactiveness, and effective interaction with service users
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
