We have an amazing job opportunity for an enthusiastic person who has relevant experience working with children with SEND. This is for the full term holidays and weekends. You must have at least 1year relevant experience working with primary and /or secondary aged SEND children.

9am to 1pm in full term holidays and 9am - 11am weekends


This will involve working in a trampoline park with Parkour, sprung floor and trampolines as well as within the creative studio and sensory room.

De-escalation training is advantageous.

Nat min wage / possibility of higher rate depending on experience / training

Roles and Responsibilities

Our mission is to:

  • Facilitate and offer a safe space and provide support to SEND children, young people and their families.
  • Create environments and use approaches that develop identity and build selfesteem.
  • Advocate and raise awareness on disability and the barriers associated.
  • Enhance children, young people and their families physical and emotional wellbeing.
Your Role within Friends of the Willow Tree

To provide a professional, friendly welcome and service to every member and visitor to NovaCity during our sessions.

  • To deliver highquality reception and telephone manners and act as front of house representatives for Friends of the Willow Tree.
  • To use tactful, friendly questioning to establish needs, and sharing this with members of staff who need to know these specific needs.
  • To show new members and visitors around the venue, explaining the facilities rules for engagement and services offered and actively promoting NovaCity through our SEND service.
  • To stop behaviour which could be dangerous.
  • Respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Conduct general routine maintenance and cleaning duties around the centre to ensure it meets the required standards of cleanliness, security, as well as health and safety.
  • Process bookings and payments through cash, card transactions and support with the app bookings.
  • Support the wider facilities team in promoting products and services.
  • Promote products and services to customers and visitors who attend NovaCity usual hours who may benefit from our services.
  • Supervision of all users
  • Ensure you are watching the users as they are SEND users who need support and supervision as balance and coordination may not be at the same level as the age of the user.
  • Maintain health and safety to a high standard with the above in mind.
  • To be polite and maintain professionalism at all times
  • No swearing when representing Friends of the Willow Tree.
  • Talk to our clients in a polite tone and always in a friendly manner.
  • No shouting across building to other staff members unless in an emergency.
  • To represent Friends of the Willow Tree by demonstrating high engagement levels
  • Move around areas as the users move. i.e sprung floor, trampolines, parkour, sensory room.
  • Understand each user (ask Donna if unsure) and their engagement level.
  • Make the area fun and support sharing resources/taking turns alongside promoting independence.
  • Provide support to users who have a range of difficulties including communication, physical or social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and also where English is not their first language.
  • Select and adapt appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed activities.
  • Provide support for users with challenging behaviour management taking account of support plans and risk assessments.
  • Support users to develop their skills of independence, resilience and confidence.
  • Talk to parents/carers about needs and abilities in a tactful manner and with the utmost respect.
  • Follow all NovaCity's policies and Procedures including Code of Practice.
