Job Title: Adult Social Care Lawyer

Location: Greater London

Working Pattern: Part Time (22hrs per week) – Hybrid Working 1 day per week Office Attendance

Rate: £50 umbrella per hour

Venn Group's specialized team in public sector legal affairs collaborates with a Local Authority in Greater London to hire an Adult Social Care Lawyer on a part-time basis to assist with a rise in workload.

The position of Adult Social Care Lawyer is available for 3 months initially but is anticipated to be extended thereafter on a rolling basis due to its nature. This offers an excellent opportunity for an Adult Social Care Lawyer to establish themselves in an emerging legal team and play a vital role within the Council.

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Barrister, Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a demonstrated track record of effectively overseeing legal affairs relating to Adult Social Care in the context of Local Government.

Duties will include:

  • Delivering comprehensive legal services, encompassing both contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Providing expert advice on legal issues, preemptively addressing potential challenges such as judicial review threats
  • Managing applications in the Court of Protection and County Court displacement proceedings with a focus on legal precision and adherence to regulations
  • Producing various legal documents, such as pleadings and statements, covering a range of issues within social care functions
  • Guiding officers on service development, ensuring the lawful implementation of service delivery modifications while prioritizing compliance with the public sector equality duty
