What you'll be responsible for:

  • Building relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to their needs and concerns
  • Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing
  • Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse
  • Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by the nurse in charge of the unit/ward, undertaking duties and activities, with limited or indirect supervision
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

You'll have the following qualification/experience:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant (Mental Health) or studying as a Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks' clinical placements, studying towards a relevant Nursing degree
  • A QCF/NVQ Level 2 or above in Heath & Social Care or Clinical Healthcare Support or A Degree/Diploma in Nursing with an inactive NMC Registration. (Must be inactive due to time lapse and not due to malpractice/restrictions to practice) or A Care Certificate issued by an NHSP approved provider.
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
