Job description

Background


Based in Cardiff, our specialist Trusts and Estates Administration department work on behalf of a number of large financial institutions, trust corporations and private clients to offer specialist advice on probate, trusts and estates, lasting powers of attorney and deeds of variation.


The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an Trusts Administrator to join the Trusts and Estates Administration team.

The role will involve undertaking book-keeping and accounting duties, and other day to day tasks as required in relation to a caseload of trusts, to include:

  • Drafting and maintaining trust accounts and distribution statements in Excel.
  • Preparing cash estimates for trust distributions.
  • Arranging payments to trust beneficiaries and third parties.
  • Dealing with compliance requirements for trusts, including obtaining and maintaining records required for HMRC, FATCA and CRS.
  • Maintaining key dates registers.
  • Arranging trust property insurance.
  • Registering trusts with HMRC's Trust Registration Service (TRS) and maintaining and closing TRS records as required.
  • Updating trust beneficiaries on the telephone and by letter.
  • Liaising with third parties such as property management agents, HMRC, financial advisers.
In addition, good communication, organisational and inter-personal skills are required.


Experience of working in a legal or trusts field would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided.
