Educational Events Manager

A membership organisation with over 10,000 members is now looking for an Educational Event Manager to join them and lead their events team to deliver a portfolio of around 30 events per year.

You will be an experienced events and marketing professional with excellent skills in event planning, marketing, and delivering events, plus managing relationships with staff at all levels, partner organisations, external stakeholders, and suppliers. You will ensure that the educational events across the Association and specialist societies including but not limited to; large multi stream conferences to 1000 delegates, exhibitions, seminars, core topics and meetings are planned, well-publicised, managed, and delivered to the highest standard with maximum impact for identified target audiences. You will be responsible for delegate and stakeholder engagement, ideation, project management, technical co-ordination, and execution of their in-person and hybrid events.

You will work closely with the Head of Events and alongside the Education Manager and Partnerships and Sponsorship Manager in the development and implementation of an education strategy and work plans that will continue to support the strategic priorities of the Association.

Essential/Desirable

  • At least 5 years' experience of organising the logistics of both in-person and hybrid events, delivering results on time and to budget.
  • Experience of working within the membership or not-for-profit sectors.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing and leading a team.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics Experience in developing and implementing marketing plans.
  • Experience of using marketing software platforms
  • A very strong organiser, able to juggle multiple priorities, achieve tight deadlines and delegate clearly.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with confidence to communicate clearly, concisely, effectively, and persuasively in-person and on paper at all levels.
  • Experience of all financial aspects of events including planning, budget preparation, budget monitoring costing, and forecasting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to develop good relationships with colleagues.
  • Resourceful, flexible, and creative, proven ability to solve problems and work well under pressure.
  • Developed negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to drive improvement and implement change.
