DERBYSHIRE AUTISM SERVICES (charity number is a small and very hardworking charity, working right across Derbyshire. Established over 30 years ago by parents and carers for parents and carers, we are now lead and staffed by those with lived experience of autism.


Derbyshire Autism Services (DAS) is a vibrant and developing organisation working closely with children and adults, in support and development.

We believe in the abilities and potential of our service users.

Signposting is a huge part of our work, and we are always looking out for knowledgeable individuals to share their expertise on support services available to Neurodivergent service users.


Owing to an increase in demand for support services, DAS are looking for an
Advisor for our exciting new Children's and Young People's Neurodivergent Support Hub in Ripley.

The role will be a mix of telephone and in-person office-based support where you will signpost people to services relevant to their needs.

We are interested in hearing from a wide range of applicants who care about and believe in people, and are passionate about support and signposting.

Full training will be given and support provided.

The Role:

  • Providing signposting to neurodivergent individuals (age 024), or their parents, who are seeking advice and guidance on managing and living with their conditions.
  • Liaising with parents and carers to ensure that every effort is made to signpost with their needs and priorities in mind, along with that of their child.
  • Preparing and completing all necessary documentation relating to the services you provide, including (but not limited to) signposting reports and progress reports.
  • Liaising regularly with the Service Manager to keep them informed of service delivery and any issues arising.
  • Using easy access, computer based information systems.
  • Using both telephone and internet based communication methods.


Applications are welcomed from Neurodivergent individuals and their parents and carers, but are open to any member of the community meeting the requirements.


You:

  • Will have similar experience, although this is not essential as full and comprehensive training will be provided, alongside logístical and technical support.
  • Must be able to commit to working
    15:30pm 18:30pm on weekdays and 9:00 12:30 on Saturdays.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must have an awareness of the needs of people with autism and other neurodivergent conditions.
  • Must have an understanding of the need for safeguarding.
  • Must be able to pass a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 18.5 per week

Pay:
£10.42 per hour
