Yard Chargehand


An established engineering company in Braintree are looking for a skilled yard Chargehand to support the growth of the business.

You must be able to read from technical drawings and preferably have steel knowledge.

A valid forklift license is essential to the position.

You must have basic computer literacy skills including Microsoft packages (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Hours are 07:30-16:00 Monday to Friday, with overtime paid at time and a half.

This is a Working Chargehand role and your will duties include:
Technical

  • Preparing orders for dispatch either fully built or flat packed
  • Being able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Overseeing quality and correct product inspection
  • Using hand and power tools to assemble steel structures
  • Moving steel around the yard
Behavioural

  • Being able to communicate with all levels
  • Working well under pressure and accepting responsibility
  • Have high attention to detail when checking quality and amounts
  • Working at a fast pace around the yard
  • Being flexible as a general pair of hands, helping out where needed
  • A Team Player

Salary:
£13.76 per hour
