To ensure smooth and efficient operations, we are seeking a dedicated Stock Controller to join our team.

This position plays a crucial role in managing our inventory of F&V, dry store items, packaging materials, and non-perishable goods.


Job Overview:


As a Stock Controller you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of all goods within our food production company.

Your primary focus will be on managing inventory levels, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with various departments to ensure timely delivery of materials.

This role requires exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Goods Receiving:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries of fresh food, dry store items, packaging materials, and nonperishable goods.
  • Transportation of goods into appropriate storage/production locations throughout the facility
  • Check delivery invoices against purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Ensure that all goods received are of the expected quality and meet our company's standards.
  • Accurately record and update inventory systems to reflect incoming goods.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including the quantity, location, and condition of stock items.
  • Monitor stock levels and anticipate future needs to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to place orders for replenishment when necessary.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and assist in periodic stocktakes.

Stock Control:

  • Implement and maintain efficient stock control systems to minimise waste and losses.
  • Monitor expiry dates of perishable items and manage the First In, First Out (FIFO) system to ensure product freshness.
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely usage of ingredients and minimise food waste. Loading & delivery of prep trolleys to day & night productions as required
  • Identify slowmoving or obsolete stock items and propose appropriate actions.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding order details, delivery schedules, and quality issues.
  • Liaise with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits related to inventory management.

Ad-Hoc Tasks

  • Support the cleaning and kitchen porter teams when required
  • Run errands for the production team, such as going to ASDA, when required to ensure smooth flowing operations

Salary:
£11.00 per hour
