We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our team at a leading manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be the principal contact for all payroll-related activities, ensuring the efficient processing of wages and salaries, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Serve as the principal contact for all payroll-related activities, collaborating effectively with the management team and colleagues.
  • Collate information from the Time and Attendance system, including hours worked, overtime, and sickness absence.
  • Ensure accurate payment of all wages and salaries, applying the correct pay rates, shift premiums, overtime rates, and sick pay policy.
  • Maintain accurate and timely payroll records.
  • Demonstrate and communicate best practices in payroll management.
  • Process new starters and leavers details, including bank details.
  • Respond to pay queries and provide general office administration support, including occasional switchboard cover.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated, solutions-focused, and resilient.
  • Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently, working on own initiative.
  • Knowledge and experience of processing payroll and using payroll software (ACCESS preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and logical thinking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and confidence in analysing numerical data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to managers and colleagues.
