Delighted to be supporting a top tier international professional services firm in recruiting for a Process Improvement Manager who will be responsible for delivering process improvement projects with Practices and corporate functions teams to drive efficiency and improve ways of working for the benefit of clients and the firm as a whole.


Central to this role will be working a range of stakeholders to agree and deliver on improvement projects that align with the firm's strategic goals and address the day-to-day challenges faced by the firm's people.


The role is responsible for managing small to medium-sized cross-functional and cross-practice project teams to successfully deliver efficiency solutions for the Practice and Business Teams.

Stakeholder management and engagement is a key dimension of this role. The individual will need to work with senior stakeholders within the Practice and Business Teams.

They will also need to engage and motivate more junior members of project teams, for whom the project may not be a priority in their day-to-day role, to ensure they deliver on what is expected of them throughout the project lifecycle.

Although based in London, this role has a global reach, involving working closely with key stakeholders in other offices.

Building relationships in a culturally sensitive way is crucial to ensuring that projects can be delivered successfully in other regions.


Experience Sought:

  • Good working knowledge and experience of process improvement and change management methods and tools, e.g. stakeholder engagement, change impact assessments
  • Significant experience of supporting the delivery of large scale, crossfunctional business change within a worldclass organisation
  • Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience of professional service firms
  • Global business or projects experience in industry or consulting
  • Technologically strong
  • Experience in the legal sector
  • Experience with APM/ PRINCE2 and lean six sigma methodologies
  • Experience of using Behavioural change techniques, e.g. Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

What you will be responsible for:

Stakeholder Engagement and consultation

  • Build strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders at varying levels of seniority in the Practice and Business Teams
  • Build a strong network with colleagues across Legal Operations and Business Teams to keep abreast of initiatives being driven by other functions and how they might impact upon the practice and upon the delivery of process improvement projects
  • Lead discussions with senior stakeholders to influence decisions around process improvement and efficiency priorities

Manage and Deliver Process Improvement projects

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in the practice and business teams, seeking alignment with complimentary or related initiatives as appropriate
  • Lead the delivery of change in relation to matter delivery using appropriate process improvement techniques, e.g. from the Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

Project and change management

  • Manage a portfolio of small to mediumsized projects, and the associated internal and external resources, to deliver a successful outcome
  • Advise the Practice and Business Teams (functions and geographies) on how to develop appropriate improvement solutions and effectively deliver the necessary change
  • Design, manage and deliver projects, taking ownership for driving projects forward, adapting the approach as needed
  • Plan and manage pilots to test out new ways of working
  • Change planning and management: support the practice to adopt new processes/ways of working

Analysis

  • Identify key metrics to help demonstrate the benefit of new solutions / ways of working
  • Build appropriate reports to measure benefits, collaborating with other functions such as Finance and Business Intelligence
  • Competitor and market analysis to keep abreast of innovation and process improvement in the legal market
