The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated senior leader with extensive experience of partnership working and managing resources to join us as Head of Post 16, Skills & Employability.
You will lead a coordinated range of activity to ensure that the Council achieves its strategic aims and delivers its statutory duties with respect to employability and skills for young people post 16.
You will take a lead strategic responsibility for developing our post 16 partner network and manage a a portfolio of services that includes 14-19 participation, 14-29 Progression Pathway for young people with Special Educational Needs along with youth skills and employability services.
We have a thriving post 16 sector in Birmingham, with experienced education leaders who want to work with us to tackle the high youth unemployment rates in our city and ensure that our young people can access the great opportunities that new business investment is bringing to Birmingham.
You should thrive in a multi-functional and multi-service delivery environment and have good experience of developing and maintaining positive professional relationships to ensure collaboration across teams, service areas and external stakeholders.
You should have experience of strong financial management, and managing transformation of services.
We are leading a new relationship with our schools and colleges, developing an Inclusive City with our young people at the heart of the council's business.
