We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be based within our Building Services team in our Sheffield office.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for producing innovative and technically brilliant solutions to construction problems and will be developing the skills to lead projects in their own right.

Successful Mechanical Engineers will take pride in being able to consistently and efficiently produce high quality work and will inspire other members of their team to develop engineering skills and knowledge to do so also.

Assist the Associate Director with client liaison and ensure that the project meets the clients' objectives and requirements.

  • Under supervision, undertake significant elements of the detailed design, including but not limited to: producing design calculations, sketches, specifications, reports and risk assessments.
  • Undertake analysis of project elements using suitable software packages
  • With director support, act as Project Manager on small to medium sized/risk projects and assist with the management of teams for a particular programme of work with a view to develop financial and project management skills.
  • Assist the Associate Director with client liaison and ensure that the project meets the clients' objectives and requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in mechanical design within the building services sector.
  • Experience with design software packages such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
  • Proven track record of producing design calculations, sketches, specifications, reports, and risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using software for design and analysis of mechanical systems.
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and reports.
