City of Bristol College is seeking to appoint two resilient, enthusiastic and proactive Learning Support Team Leaders.

You will be a confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with Colleagues, Students and Stakeholders both internally and externally.


  • To take a campusbased lead role, as part of a crosscollege team, in supporting the Head of Additional Learning Support to ensure the effective and efficient provision of high quality learning support for students and apprentices, with a focus on inclusive practice and removing barriers to learning, achievement and progression to deliver the College's mission and curriculum strategy
  • The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and recording of all Learning Support activities at a designated college centre, based on the needs and provision requirements of new and existing students as detailed in Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans, High Needs assessments and teacher referrals. This will include identifying training needs of staff to deliver specialist support, utilising High Needs funding.
  • Working with transition and progression mentors and English and maths coaches, you will lead on timetabling, tracking and monitoring of learning support provision.
  • To develop positive working relationships with curriculum staff and Heads of Department, providing advice and information as and when required
  • To ensure an excellent service is provided for identified individuals or groups of learners, in learning support areas in college.
  • To be the lead point of contact for teaching and professional services staff in relation to Learning Support at a designated college centre.
  • As part of the College's ongoing cycle of continuous improvement, and in line with sector best practice, to support the Head of Learning Support and the College Leadership Team in fostering a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement, including the monitoring and review of the quality and efficiency of support for students and apprentices with SEN at a designated college centre.


You will need to be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, at all levels, internally and externally, as well as other members of College staff and students.
