My client is currently recruiting for a General Mechanic to work within their team located in Barking.

Job Purpose:


The purpose of this role is to preform structured maintenance tasks on equipment, vehicles and buildings in an effort to improve the quality of the clients product offering, operations and fleet.

This role will include on occasion, general maintenance andrepairs at the customers' location.

Main Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Performing regular inspections and maintenance on working machinery to ensure proper functional upkeep and esthetic quality
  • Carrying out service, maintenance and repairs including MOT failure jobs
  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on many types of vehicles while maintaining company and industry standards
  • Maintaining trailered generators KVA, tower lights and other mechanical /electrical plant
  • Electrical, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installations
  • Inspections, MOT Preparations, diagnosis, service, maintenance and repair procedures on a range of vehicles
  • Use manufacturer diagnostic equipment to ensure diagnostics, testing, and repairs are thorough and to highest quality
  • Record jobs and inspection documents on a daily basis
  • Ordering and replacing parts and components and repairs body damage as needed whilst maintaining company procurement standards

Qualifications:

  • Plant Mechanical qualifications & skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have a basic vehicle
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Calm under pressure and an ability to adapt to lastminute changes
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to work irregular hours
The salary will be ranging from £30,000 to £35,000 dependant on experience.
