Responsible to:
EVB Manager


In carrying out the duties and responsibilities set out within the Job Description, and in the context of developing working relationships with others, the post holder will be expected to demonstrate commitment to and comply with the specific requirements and the spirit of the Volunteer Bureau's Equal Opportunities Policy.


Duties
To be responsible for receiving transport requests from members of the public and organisations.

To decide whether such requests fall within the Volunteer Bureau's criteria for the scheme.

To allocate driving trips to volunteers.

To provide the necessary support to drivers.

To keep records of all trips and provide reports for the Management Committee as requested.

To process monthly claim forms.

To attend meetings as appropriate concerning the Transport Scheme.

To assist with the publicity of the Scheme and the recruitment of drivers.

To be responsible for the administration of the Transport Scheme.


Confidentiality/Health and Safety - The post holder will be required to ensure that any aspect of the work undertaken will have due regard to the appropriate confidentiality of work and the Bureau's Health and Safety Policy insofar as office accommodation is concerned.


Data Protection - To be aware of the requirements of the Data Protection Act and other legislation, ensuring confidentiality of information in respect of records maintained and tasks undertaken.

Essential requirements

Education/Training
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent or proven ability within a previous work setting.

Skills
Verbal communication skills.

Written communication skills.

Computer/internet skills using Microsoft Office.

Numerate.

Good organisational skills.

Experience
Clerical/Admin. Office experience - 1 year minimum.

Basic Requirements
Sensitivity to the needs of service users and the confidential work of the Bureau.

Willingness to undertake any relevant training.

Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with members of the public and other statutory and voluntary organisations.

Ability to understand and a motivation to follow the Equal Opportunities Policy.
