Main Purpose of Role
In this vital role, you will be in charge of stock replenishment, control, price checking, accountability for parts usage, and establishing a critical spares list.
The primary objective of this position is to ensure the production line's needs are consistently met, manage accurate stock levels efficiently, and maintain detailed records in an internal IT system.
Conducting regular stock checks and collaborating with production and delivery teams will be key aspects of this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle enquiries and correspondence through email
- Oversee stock and transactions, including critical spares, consumables, and workwear
- Maintain accurate stock levels and source new products from suppliers when necessary
- Manage components in the stores using the SAP system
- Create and track purchase orders, along with goods receipting
- Update internal records to ensure data accuracy and audit readiness
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier issues
- Utilize the SAP system for various store activities
- Coordinate transport schedules for shipments and deliveries
- Adhere to operational procedures and instructions diligently
- Ensure easy item location and provide support for stock items onsite
- Maintain cleanliness in the stores area
- Obtain quotes from current and potential suppliers
- Undertake additional duties as needed to meet departmental or company objectives
Person Specification
- Experience in a busy stores environment
- Beneficial to have a Forklift Truck license
- Proficient in computerized stock control systems
- Knowledge of purchasing principles and procedural compliance
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and safe working procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and a team player
- Experience with ERP and stock control systems
